The stunning 12,000 square-foot property at Rectory Farm recreated the style of a 17th century manor house. Unusually, the building was buried into the hillside in order to emulate the look of a single-storey building from the front. This meant that there was the potential for serious water ingress and damage to the lower ground floors, which would be exacerbated by the dense clay on which the property was set.
